DC should blow today in the mid to upper teens. Get there early as it looks like it will fade later in the afternoon.

Another excellent forecast for DC; Kenny, has Craig lent you his crystal ball?

I did get there early, which has its pluses and minuses. On the plus side, you don't miss anything. On the minus side, it's harder to figure out what to rig. Because the wind was light when I arrived, especially close to the launch, I rigged an 8.5, which soon proved to be a hand full, especially on the far side. I stayed with it for an hour, expecting the wind to back off at any minute; it didn't. So I finally rigged a 6.6, which worked well for the next 20 minutes or so, at which point the wind did start to back off noticeably. Overcast much of the time, but surprisingly warm (high of 56F at my weather station in beautiful Chucktown West.) And despite a couple of weeks of nighttime lows in the teens, the temperature of the surface water at the launch site is still about 46F. Lots of fishing boats, didn't see any kites.

Todd, I agree that the wind at DC does tend to be a bit weird this time of year. The past couple of times I've sailed there has been much less (almost no) wind at the DCIB launch but plenty on the far side. Probably a bit squirrely at DCBB also, but maybe not quite as bad.

Thanks, Jim, but I still consider myself a rank amateur compared to Craig. Craig can tell you the exact time the wind is going to turn on at DC. The guy is a forecasting jedi.

You guys are making me blush! Seriously though, Kenny's got it nailed down. Jim knows,
I miss some and I make some, but I always appreciate the support, and the data points.
