December 17th, Skyline with 12m mantas

We figured we would just go backcountry skiing if there wasn't any wind and maybe dig a few pits. We arrived at 10:30 to sunny skies and large surface hoar with a slight breeze. Within five minutes you could hear wind on your ears, and we drove back to the snow fence area. It was up and we were happy skiing on noisy crystals. Rode powered enough to take airs until 2:15 when it died. I was about a half an hour wallow away from the car at that given point in time, but was having the time of my life on that ridge line. We went back to the main parking lot and ate for a bit, and then about 3:45, the sunset expression session kicked in hard and clean. It was so sweet. I can't believe that place sometimes.

God I love this sport

maybe I'm reading into this too much - are you saying that Skyline gets a wind push around sunset usually? I'm totally clueless on how that area works - any info is appreciated.
