12/24 Skyline 17M Waroo & 19M S3
I was worried when I pulled into the lot today at Skyline. It looked pretty socked in, but there were moments of clearing. The wind was on the light side, with some good gusts so I pumped up my 17M Waroo. I rode for a while slightly underpowered. There were not many kiters there (I counted 5) and tons of slednecks. We all rode for about an hour in light wind. Two kiters left (thanks for the sacrifice) and most of the sleds. The wind then began to pick up and there was more clearing. I went out on the 19. Sal was on an 11 and Mark was on a 10 or 12M Frenzy. The three of us had a riot ripping the powder. The clouds never cleared, but visibility never dropped below 75 yards. The clouds made the wind gusty, but with all of the new snow it still was a blast.
I decided on Skyline over Strawberry as I was worried about jarring my pelvis dropping into a sagebrush hole. I think the cold might actually have been good for my backside (temp was 0 degrees).
