I had a great week surfing because the wind didn't blow on the north shore. I got a short session on my 14m at Ka'anapalli mid-week which was fun bump & jump with a couple small waves. But yesterday the northeast wind turned on with nice overhead waves. It was soooo much fun. Afterwards we drove up to Ho'okipa. It was firing with 20 foot wave faces. There were kiters and windsurfers ripping it up. I had just come from what I considered great conditions but I was jealous watching these guys, it was f***king awesome!

Where did you surf?

On the west side. The most at Honolua Bay, also S-turns, Puamana and Launiupoko Parks near Lahaina. Honolua was small by Hawaiian standards but big for me. What a great wave and beautiful place. Jason, after watching the stand up surfers, I think I'm going to try it next time. They were all over the place except for the biggest breaks. I was checking the Kanaha web cam to see if it was windy but every morning there would be a bunch of paddle surfers out and you can watch in streaming HD.

Sounds great Ralph!!! Little Makaha is a great break up the road from S-turns and is super fun. Check it out next time. S-turns is where the guy got chomped by a Tiger shark a few years back and is an awesome wavesailing/kiting location when the wind is straight North and the swell is big. If the surf is big and there is no wind, Kanaha is a SUP paradise. You can always paddle out and find your own section and catch waves. I remember being out there with over-head sets and counted 60+ SUPers. Everyone was getting waves. Not one went by unridden. Ride on!!!!
