I'm on a cruise in the Caribbean and found a cool kiteshop in South Barbados. Rented a kite for a session and had a great time. There must have been 40 kiters out there. Nice waves, good cross wind--- although the beach was a bit short for me. First time with a 5-line kite. It seem to fly about the same as my Kahoona. Not quite as quick of a relaunch though. Some guys from Belguim were running the Club Mystic there. Today I'm in Antigua--let's see if they also have some kiting action.

Travis,

This time of year can be great in Barbados. Did you kite at Silver Sands or in Oistin Bay closer to Bridgetown? Great port tack wind for kiting and windsurfing plus good surfing out at Soup Bowls. Are there more kiters than windsurfers now? What shop did you rent from? Most Caribbean Islands should have kiting in the tourist areas. Enjoy the warm water, it's snowing here. WG

I was at Silver Sands. It was a fairly low wind day (for them). Everyone was griping about not being able to use their 9Ms for several days in a row. I just chuckle. Nicely powered on a 14M is fine for me. :) I saw no wind surfers. Very nice spot and I think I'd plan a return trip there. From Nov-Feb they have 5 days of wind a week, if not more. Wow.
