My son and I went to The Canyons this morning. I checked the wind every time we got on the lift. I was really hoping the wind would switch and come in strong at Strawberry. I figured that we were close enough that I could get a in a little twilight session after a mellow day of slush boarding. The wind did switch so we headed over after the resort closed. We didn't get to the lake until about 5:15. I figured there would be a few desperate souls trying to get some rides. The place was dead. Empty lots at the river, CCE and the view area. The wind at the view area was blowing 14 and gusting to 14 1/2. Through up the kite and played in the hills for a couple hours. I was OK powered up but it was WAY more fun then riding the lifts. Everything was very wet and slushy. The lake only has a couple inches of snow on it but it was forgiving enough of my bad landings. As we passed the river it started to snow. By the time we got to the summit it was coming down pretty hard. May have to get up there early tomorrow and play in the new snow.
