Mattie and I hit Pelican Harbor Sat around 2:30 to find nice steady 6.7 for me and 5.2 for her. I've never seen the area as full as it was, with lots of cars and boat trailers. I happily found one slot in the usual space to rig. Lots of families, people playing volleyball, kids running around, bar-b-ques everywhere, some jetskis and a lot of boats. No problem for us as once we got out, we only had the occasional boat go by (although did have the usual clueless jetskier that didn't see me on an intercept course - someday I'll get a klaxon on my boom). The good chop kept the boaters at bay, and me in smiles.

Only one other sailor besides us - Ford White, from Orem/Provo I think, who was getting some rides after an arm-stretching he said he got the day before launching "off the end of the Provo airport road" in the SW. (hey, a new spot!?) Used to sail a lot, starting to pick it up again some many years later after a career in the Marines.

We left around 5:30, it was more like 7.5 by then, but I planed all the way in on my last run. Nice warm water, fun family scene, great sesh at the beach.

We talking the same Pelican? I was on the water by 7 on my 94L Starboard. (post below). Great fun followed by courtesy puff into the harbor at the end.

Yep, Carl, same place. When we got back into SLC it did seem to freshen and I was thinking it might have picked up if we had stayed. Glad it did. Happy 4th!

And happy 4th back. Sorry it isn't easier to sail PBH but I am sailing Pelican most often these days and glad to see you are getting over there too. Good work Mattie!
