Definitely had one of my best days of the season at SSB last night. arrived to blowing winds at about 5:30 pumped and went out. kited until about 8:30 and could have gone until dark if i wasn't so tired. Chris Jason and i all took a trip over to Lincoln to see what was going on. i think i saw 8 of 10 best kites i the air when we got there- weird scene for sure. i think i only recognized one or two kiters. despite my 4 years kiting this was the first time I've crossed over and it was awesome. came back to SSB and switched out the surfboard for the TT and rode for another hour or so before getting tired. took the surfboard out one last time and was too lazy to walk upwind and started on a easterly tack. got too close to the green room and ripped a fin out, so if anyone sees a white FCS fin its mine. i will comment on the mini tuttle box to FCS conversion- tuttle box stayed just fine and the fin ripped right out with NO damage to the board. while i lost a fin, i'm quite happy with the setup as i've heard disaster stories from others ripping out the entire fin box....

My 11m Ozone Sport +/surfboard combo was good enough for some carving turns, big jumps, and a cruise over to SSB and back with Bob. Fun evening.

I had waaaaay too much fun last night. It's always fun when you don't expect it, and if you look at the bluffdale indicators from 6 pm on, they really didn't seem all that good. Made my first crossing to Lioncoln and back, rallied some reeds and got to jump over some kids in the water. You would have thought we were rock stars by the way they were cheering! I almost got to jump a Suzuki Samurai that was in the water about 12 inches deep. If he had just come a little further offshore it might have worked. Jason K and I plowed over the reed tops too many times to count. Jason M and a friend made it over with their yachting gear. Now I need a nap

Zephyr/raceboard is yachting gear. 11m/surfboard is wave gear!!

OK. I guess that 7'6" Naish Sky Pirate kiteboard/surfboard that I was riding could be considered yachting gear. That was my first trip over to SSB from Lincoln. It's a good thing that Jason and I made it back when we did because the wind started to die off shortly after. Getting stuck half way would make for an ugly hike out.

Truly an amazing evening. I was on a 13 Bularoo and one of Don's amazing 3B boards, and cannot think of a time that kiting has been more fun. Solid wind, cool people,3+ hours on the water, what else can be said? Hope to see a few more of these this summer.

I'm so glad I ditched out of work early to head down to ULLB. Awesome night!! I rode both my 16M Session as well my 11M Instinct and had much more fun on the smaller kite. The wind was a bit stronger than I had anticipated. So much fun jumping the waves and carving up the butter close to the jetty. Good times!

Jason, My oversite for sure. I am a noob in the intricacies of yachting. I should have known that you were running gas outboards and not diesels - my mistake. You guys were just going too damn fast for me to ID the boards! Glad you made it back, it felt like the wind was letting up when you arrived at SSB.
