8/11 G'ville:Wake, wait, wait, sail, go to work, repeat...

And on the 8th day, the Wind rested and slept in late, and the windriders who were there at dawn thought, "wtf?". Then the Wind arose, crabby, sore, with bad hair, and teased the windriders with little gusts and big holes from the South. Then, having rested and laughed at the windriders, the Wind relented and started to fill in from the SW about 9:15 and the windriders began to smile and laugh and try 360s. But the Wind, embarrassed by its teasing of the sailors, broke the windmeter until 11:00 when it could show steady 5.0-5.5 forevermore.

Meanwhile, this windrider headed to work, with only about 45 minutes of planing to show for my 6th day sailing. Josh and John Freed were streaking up the lake as I left. Grant was rigging 5.0?

Mini-rant: Today was my third disposable diaper (used) pick-up. Who are these people? Today's was right next to an unopened bag of pink marshmallows. They were both tossed at once? They both fell of the truck at once? Who would store marshmallows next to a disposable diaper? What if you put the wrong item onto your stick over the campfire? Who are these people?

I stayed around a little bit,left around 1PM.
It went Utah nuclear. That is 35mph+ gusts to 16mph lulls.
Crazy rides, more like participating in a rodeo than windsurfing Grantsville.
