1pm arrived - lit on a 12m - could have rode the 9m. Everyone was out having a good time on everything from 8m to (17m - only till he couldnt hold it down) . Gusty at times. Wind started having bigger lull to gust cycles at about 5 - I came in at 5:30 - still rideable though. Lots of new people. No major mishaps. I tried to introduce myselft to everyone and check their skill level if i didnt know them. Post your session.
PS - found a slingshot bar at the lake - in the weeds - call if its yours 435.640.6505

I guess I was the one on the 8m. Yikes. Sailed on from Barbwire Beach up to Sailboat Beach. That was the easy part. It was gusting pretty hard so coming back down wind was thrilling to say the least. Luckily no blowups. Downwinding on a small board correct sail size is easy, big board and big sail not so easy. I wanted to get a good work out today and I think I achieved it. My legs were already cramped up by the time I hit island beach bay. Fun times.
Just my crazy ideas again, but a downwinder fun run with kites, sailboards, and sailboats would be fun. Sailboat to Barbwire. Any takers? Next windy Saturday?? Or a up wind down wind run. Do the whole thing or just the downwind part.

There were some big gusts to weather. I had a first for me. I did a jump and on the way down a big gust hit me and I went back up again. I've gotten boosted on the way up plenty of times but that was a big surprise when I was getting ready to touch down and suddenly I'm going up again. Good times.

Great session but too short for me. I was boating with the family and left them up at DCIB for 2 hours. I can attest to "policing our own" because Spencer didn't recognize me and had a few questions for me to make sure I knew what I was doing.

I think it is great because then it lets me ask a few questions back to the likes of Spencer who know a lot more about kiting than I do. Anyway, great fun and fully lit on the 11.5 Kahoona. Worked on my transitions and a few boosts. If anyone sees a two year old green Kahoona 11.5 with a rip fixed, let me know. It might be the kite I lost on the freeway a few weeks ago.

Great day at Deer Creek. Here are some stats from my session yesterday:
Kite: 11M Ozone Instinct
Board: 127 LF Recoil
Time on water: 1:57:46
Distance: 24.39 miles
Max Speed: 24.0 mph
Avg Speed: 12.4 mph
It's amazing how much distance you can cover in 2 hours on a kite!

Gotta love GPS; probably silly, but I really enjoy checking out my stats after a session. As Jon says, it's amazing how much ground (well, hopefully water) we sometimes cover.
