Good day at the beach. Lite but fun wind for about four hours.

Definitely a big gear day at IB. Carl (Formula board/12.5m sail) ruled. The rest of us (Sarah & Linda, Duane, Steve Nyhus, Angela, Adam, me) struggled to get an occasional planing ride. Still, a very pleasant Fall day and good company.

Jim is so humble. He got more than his share of planing reaches on a beautiful October Saturday, spectacularly free of wave runners and water weenies. I have to admit it feels a lot safer without the motards out. The ranger said that they are handing out brochures to keep them from killing us.

Some of the kiters came up from BB and there was a good mix for a while there. Rallied a bit with a couple of them, guessing Jake for one, and someone on a green Ozone I think. What size kites were you guys on? Coulda used just a bit more but it was a fun day and still very pleasant.

Not sure what Jim was on, but Jake was on a 17m Taboo with a race board and I was on a 17m Zephyr with a 135 x 46 board. The wind and coves up there were really fun. I tried to make it to rainbow bay, but thought better of it when a lull struck at about 4:20? and I retreated like a Monty Python character. Runaway!!! Runaway!!! Birk was out on his sailboat having a good time. If you get close enough, I bet he'll hand you a beer. Fun to mix it up with with the pole boarders as always. It's fun to hear that "slap slap" as you guys rally past.
