2/18 UDOT 8 to 14M
Posted: Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:40 pmI got there a little after 2PM. Eric and Ralph had just come in saying it was too gusty on 13M and Jeff on 10M. Hung out and talked, McCarthy and friends went out on 7.5M Foils, under powered, then Sal showed up, put up his 11M and had a short session.
I finally pumped up my 14M Caution and went out around 4PM. Quite light wind from the south and southwest but then it picked up. For a while there were 5 kites in the air, McCarthy, Sal, Me and a couple foils. The snow was OK, some crunch underneath, but yesterday's powder really helped, especially in the gullys.
At 4:40 the Sun came out and the wind picked up until the sun dropped behind the Wasatch, then it backed off. Maybe you guys should have waited?? One guy just came back from Strawberry at 5:15 and said there had been no wind there. Anyone go to Pow Mow? .........Whit G
