I really don't post in windlog very often but with all this talk about strawberry melting so soon for every one I thought I would post my day yesterday.

I rode plenty powered 10m traveled around 60 miles hit a top speed of 57.2 and enjoyed all the snow that was out there around the cabins and soldier creek after launch from CC and riding over there with a bunch of friends.

Plenty of snow left at Strawbs, even a few inches gained last night. I keep reading on this forum that the snow is going byebye but I have not noticed that happining....Hence this post.

Billy, There are 56 to 59 inches showing on the snowdepth at the Daniels Sensor. We have plenty of coverage at Strawberry for a good long spring session. As I recall, it only takes about 34 inches on that sensor to start covering the sagebrush and start riding in the fall. Whit G

I thought i might chime in here. i haven't really been snowkiting this year- what a sin! Kenny- are you holding confession sessions as a part of your kite bishop duties?
i had a lot of fun Saturday at strawberry with Bill and Co. i noticed how many kite skills that were second nature before i have gotten very rusty on. i guess i'll have something to work on this spring...

since i haven't been up there very much i thought i'd chime in on the condition of the lake. overall it is very hard and while i don't know ice depth, there were still many ice fishers out there. however, with the lack of super deep cold spells- everyone might want to watch out for remnants of the fishing holes. i found half a dozen out there that had not frozen over yet and are just waiting to catch the unsuspecting riders boards or ski tips. they are easy enough to ollie over, but on a long reach back from the east end of the lake, a few caught me by surpise. i would suspect that in the deep of winter these holes repair themselves much quicker.

all in all, we still have many many months of riding a strawbs left.

Whit,

There is plenty up ther for sure just depends how quick it gets hot. Strawberry river tends to be the last place thats usable since it has shorter sage but for now the whole place is good!

Mike.

I stumbled across some holes also, I am sure the fisherman fish similar spots cuz thats where the fish are. So the holes do seem to pop up in groups. Plenty of snowmobiles still out on the lake. Lots of the holes where under some freash snow yesterday.

Yes, you may confess for your sin of not snowkiting much this winter. You penance is double snow/water sessions this spring to get the rustiness out :)))

all in all, we still have many many months of riding a strawbs left.

Mike, do you need to confess to smoking something as well?

yea, i meant weeks, not months. thats what happens when you type too early with not enough caffeine.

i'll work on my penance, i promise! i'm super excited for rush. even with the infected foot splinters and the distasteful muck, i love that place!
