A pretty unusual day wind-wise. A blast of wind out of the SW beginning at 4:30 AM with a peak of 44 MPH at about 5 AM. At about 6:15 the wind shifted to the NE, usually not a good sign at DC. However, by about 11:30, it had shifted back to the SW and slowly started to build, and by 1 was gusting as high as 20. As generally happens in this situation (North wind along the Wasatch Front, SW at DC) the wind was a bit gusty, but if anything, less so than usual. At least the gusts came on fairly smoothly and were prolonged enough to allow for shore to shore planing rides. While I was sailing, BWB was strangely deserted, but later in the afternoon, a North Evo and a green and black Ozone (John Guay?) appeared on the scene.
