Got there late 8:30 compared to the guys who don't sleep or atleast thats what I'm assuming. Sailed op 4.6 and 4.0. Great day. We maybe waiting until next year for the water to warm up. Grants gets a good sized swell/chop with 4.0 winds. Guys were showing up when I left at 1 and the winds were going strong.

good old grantsville rodeo. you're not kidding op 4.6. personally i don't think my 4.7 was the right choice, too big for the conditions while i was there. maybe it wasn't as strong earlier/later but i was kinda lit for my first day on the (chilly) water this season. a 4.2 would have had my 200 lbs more than on top. while i was there i didn't see anyone put a 4.7 up and keep it. the only reason i did was because i'm morally opposed to rerigging. actually Ken was rigged up 4.6 or so for a while, but that was it and he looked like he was smart enough to put it on a smaller board. coulda used my gorge board, the 94 was a tad more than i needed. it was 35-40mph with dust storms and sand blasting on the beach. enough for me, that's for sure.

had to quit because:
a. i'm out of shape and had too much cloth and fiberglass
b. my toes were getting numb and tired of getting jammed into the edges of the straps

meanwhile the usual crimson connection made a showing. i loved the utard with the big white dodge dually cruising around with his own fuel hose and filler dangling off the back of his truck, dragging on the pavement, across the washboard, through the cattle guards and from one end of the lake to the other. that was funny.

and what are they exploding out there at dugway anyway? anybody know?
