6/1 Willard Bay

I was able to get a couple of hours of 5ish meter sailing in today at Willard Bay.

My body isn't ready for a 4.0 beating so I thought I would avoid the Tooele Valley high winds and go for the swell up North.
It paid off.

Sailed with Jeff (from Clearfield) who kited 11m.

The swell are always nice, beach yes, grass yes, Subway eat fresh within 1/4 mile yes, warm air temps yes.
I have nothing to complain about.

Also witnessed a hundred of so high school students try to paddle homemade card board boats in the bay, interesting and entertaining.
Right up Rick H's alley.

Did you happen to leave a boom behind? Or were there other pole boarders out today. I found a boom on the grass and brought it home in hopes that someone will be looking for it on the forum. Let me know.

Thanks,
Ken Lewis

Jason and I got there about 6pm to almost no wind. (11mph) I rigged my 16m anyway and attempted a run on my big board. Had to pump a little but it got better. The wind ramped up through the evening. At one point, Jason was well lit on his 13m. I pulled off for a while and then went back out later when it calmed a bit but it was up and down then so it didn't go as well. All in all, a good evening. Kiting for me has been very sparse this year. Hopefully things will improve.
