Last year it was suggested that DC resembles a woman, and various names were suggested, Irene being one that comes to mind. I think a better (and definitely less sexist) alter ego is Kokopelli, the trickster god. Craig:
DC might have a few planable 9.5/18M puffs around 2PM from the SW

Point forecast for Charleston:
Today: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 69. Southeast wind 6 to 11 mph becoming southwest.

So what did Kokopelli do? He cranked up the SW wind machine at 10AM and kept it going, off and on, til 4:30. I got to Chucktown beach at 11, rigged an 8.5, rigged down to 7.5 after a couple of reaches, then down to 6.6, which provided plenty of power. George Ward was smart enough to rig a 6.6 to begin with. Somehow word evidently got out, as BWB was well populated.

I'd much rather somebody got to ride, and my forecast was wrong than that my forecast was right, and there
was no wind. Plus it's a data point for new theories ;*)
