Nuking tonight. Measured 35 avg gusting to 57 (and probably higher) when I got there. A couple guys got blown off the water.
After waiting a bit it calmed down for a great session. 10m love for me and most were on 7/8. Awesome night. Measured 25 gusting to 35 when I left.

As i pulled up to LB around 6:30, i could see huge waves coming down the lake, but nobody out kiting. what WHAT? a small hobicat was being pulled out of the water in our launch area. Chase and Todd were setting up. held my wind meter up for a minute near the car and it showed low 30's avg. i pulled out my smallest kite, 8m and headed out as some more of the crew started to arrive. pretty gusty wind for a N and as i got further out the wind picked up. I didn't get worked so much, but i just couldn't hold an edge and ended up slowly heading downwind, and it was gusty enough that it just wasn't much fun. made a little headway for a while, but a little mistake would make me lose 30yds of ground. so, I was one of the people who got blown off the water. Thanks to Peter (who came into the water in his jeans and fine italian shoes) and Todd who came out to help me land and collect my gear. waited around maybe 45 minutes, when the wind finally backed off and smoothed out a little and got an hour+ of lit 8m conditions. good size jumps, but i don't think i landed one. I always feel like i'm just plummeting out of the sky on small kites. maybe i'm just too much of a little girl to try to stick the landings in those conditions.

and Jason and i thought it wasn't going to happen... Sounds like a white knuckle night. Hopefully i'll see some of you there tonight on a more steady wind.
