6/21 - 6/23, Dewey Beach, everything works at some point!
I have been lucky in east coast so far this summer. The forecast wasn't calling for much wind, if at all, for this week. But then things kept changing to the right direction, in this case, south and southwest
. Tuesday was a solid day, make it very solid day. I kited from 12 to 6:30 with maybe a 30 minute break. Tried the North race board with the mega Kahoona at the beginning and moved to my trusty 13 meter Ozone Sport at the end of the day. My legs just couldn't do it any longer by 6:00 p.m. After trying the race board, I can tell you all my poleboarder comrades kiter owe windsurfers, big time! It is just like windsurfing with a kite.
6/22 was just a regular light wind day. I got couple hours of rides with the help of a light wind board: the 161 LF Proof. I highly recommend anyone who wants to increase water time without the $$ to spend on race board to get one. Not only it is a good board to learn on, it really helps when the wind is sub teens! The only riders out were myself and the dude with the race board. But the Proof cost $215!
6/23 started off slow and then went epic! It was another solid 6 hour day, with about an hour of lull. By the time the wind picked up at 6 p.m. to nuking level, I was too tired (and without the small gears I need) to take advantage of it.
I could see myself getting on a 9 or 7 meter and a light wind board and rip the heck out of it!
I hope the days ahead bring more good days at the beach!
It was blowing 20 mph+ and I was on the 13 meter Ozone Sport with a big board!

Just me and the birds!

Cleared the water with the Custom 144.
