I saw the Provo Canyon meter increasing so I thought I would show up early. The wind came up very quickly at noon, and for a while I wondered if I should be on my 13. The wind would be smooth, then holey, then gusty and sometimes it would switch directions, but I was having a really good time and the jumping was great. A couple of boats had really fun cheering sections on them.

At about 1:45 the wind spun, shut down and did other strange things. I did a full-on Monty Python "Runaway!!!" and had to sling my kite all over the place. Made it to shore but not without sliding face-first in the mud between the entrance posts. At least my kite made it. The wind picked up again quickly, but I had some things to do, had kited plenty and really didn't trust that conditions would get much smoother.

Pizza rating: The first pizza that you've had in a month or two, at a Pizza Hut that has a very cute server. No waiting in line. The pizza has pepperoni, olives, Canadian bacon, pineapple, mushrooms and onions. Some of the onions are sweet enough to make you cry, one of the shrooms is a magic shroom, most of the pineapple is sweet and juicy, but there are some dried up burnt crunchy ones, the Canadian bacon is overcooked, but somehow delicious, some of the olives have pits in them and the mainstay of pepperoni is fantastic. All served with a beer that you have not had in ages, which forces you to reminisce about college parties and admit that, yeah, sometimes cheap beer is really good if it's cold enough and you drink it quickly.
