Posted: Wed Oct 05, 2011 5:13 pmUp and down day at Grants. Arrived at 7:30ish, with wind all over the valley, but up and down at the lake. Stronger gusts started to come through and Ken, Mike and I rigged 5.7's/6.0's and got some pretty good rides. Got blown off just about the time Josh showed up, we all rigged 4.7's just to have the wind back up. Back to the 5.7's with a fair amount of tail-walking... We did get about 30 minutes on the 4.7's just before the rain hit around noon. Fall is here... 48 degrees when we left... a little chilly... Broke a boom clamp on the far side. Tied the boom to the mast with the uphaul. Worked just great, a good tip for future breakdowns... saved me from a walk around the lake. BTW... Grants is getting smaller and smaller, the walk to the water longer and longer...
