BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE MONA 10/24
I arrived at Mona early as usual to find it was already blowing at 12:00.
The forcast called for 10-15 from 2-5ish, BUUULLLSHIT!
I rode 17m for over an hour until the SE slammed into incomming SSW
and went from 15-30 in a heartbeat. I knew I was in trouble beeing so far upwind
so I ran straight downwind trying to spill as much wind out of the kite as possible which
was terrifying to be ramping double and triple wind swells at that speed.
I thought one little teeny tiny little boost wouldnt hurt as long is it was my last.
BUUULLLSHIT! As I sheeted in, the kite ripped me off the water with such force
my board stayed and I went into orbit probably showing up on Salt Lake City Int's
radar for a moment. As fate would have it, I landed 50 feet from shore and made one of those
once in a lifetime self-landindings right next to my truck.
After I cooled down a bit I rigged up 7M Bull and rode for another hour well powered on the
RIGHT KITE.
