Air temp 80, water temp 80. Head high waves on the outside and chop on the inside. Rode in the morning powered up and had the water to myself. In the afternoon, the masses descend on the water with kite instruction every 100 yards. Cabarete must be center of the universe for learning how to kite. Local Dominicans showing-off near the shore gives the beach a carnival-like atmosphere. So imagine, if you will a beginner body dragging near shore on a kite with 15m lines and a Dominican 14 year old kid riding on the inside and the popping 25 feet off the water, doing a board off and then landing in 3" of water swooping their kite low and you get the idea. Somehow, collisions are rare as the Dominican youth ride with grace and power.

I spent my time in the waves as they are perfect for a flat lander. The waves are widely spaced with a nice even break and small enough to be safe, yet big enough to actually ride.
