I am really loving SUP right now. Flat water racing, distance paddling, white water, and surf. I have spent all my free time going to California this summer chasing south swells. This weekend looks like another killer swell is coming. I'm going!!! Here is a sweet video of a kid ripping his SUP just so all you people can see what it's all about. It really is a great addition to my kiting.

Would a SUP make a poor light wind board due to its size and probable lack of edge? Has anyone tried this and been successful?

People kite with sups, there was even some kites from F1 just for sup boards last year.
Years ago there was a great Pic of Robby Naish strapless airing one. It is something you have to try to decide if you like.

Dude SUP is rad! Add waves and it's bananas!
Check this one out from Turtle Bay on the north shore of Oahu. I was there two years ago and watched some of these guys do a demo. Floaters, off the tops, barrells! And they use the padle not just to get in to waves but as a rudder so they can carve supre hard. It's rad!
