A beginner needs a better rig... I gave him the Obrien rig since my brother has outgrown it... But the sail is missing a batten and the boom is a little old fashioned and difficult to rig... But it'll all work... He does need a mast in the 460 range... If you have an old rig that you want to donate to him... He really will make the most of it... He made the most of the beginner day... Call him at 801-635-8402 Daniel...

Thanks... Post here if you gave him one so that we don't overload him! ;)

Rick, I have a collection of battens that keeps growing every time one of my favorite sails won't take any more tape or window repairs and finally gives up the ghost, if you know what the length and end style is I might be able to help. It is funny how attached you get to some of your sails and boards, especially when you have those perfect days when the wind is steady and you are perfectly dialed in. Craig, is right, time to start thinking about the Gorge!!!

As far as gear goes, ditto for my co-worker Matt Adams, he picked up a board and a mast (460?) but needs an extension and a sail or two. I am going to give him one or two of my old booms. I / He was thinking of sails in the range of a 4.5 to 6.0 until he gets the hang of things. Please post if you have any extra gear or call me (801) 274-0875, Matt moved here from New Jersey and does not have a local number yet.

Maybe we could have another swap this year to get the gear people are not using into the hands of people starting out? :) Hey, that goes for kiters too, I have a kite that keeps pulling me to the dark side every time I look at it, maybe Marty is some how using the force on windsurfers?
