So I've been studying the Gorge forcast to gauge our prospects and am considering alternatives....shuffleboard anyone? The Gorge forcast looks so bleak for the coming week that I've looked at other locations to see what's possible. Any suggestions?
It's raining in Maui, It's storming in Padre, winds on the Oregon coast don't look that good. Rio Vista is only marginal, the San Francisco Bay is dicey and Hatteras is too light to consider. Any suggestions?
The best wind forcast I can find is Sulfur Creek! Where's the virtual reality when we need it? For some reason, I don't hear anyone feeling sorry for us. Maybe we'll be vacationing on Skunk Cabbage!@@#%^*^&(&(&

Aloha Trip. The latest forecast I saw for the Gorge has the wind returning on Monday.
I fly into Portland tonight and I'll be on the coast for the weekend. The Coast forecast looks pretty good to me:

EVENING. WIND WAVES 6 FT. NW SWELL 5 FT AT 10 SECONDS.

N WIND 20 TO 25 KT. GUSTS UP TO 35 KT IN THE AFTERNOON.
WIND WAVES 6 FT. NW SWELL 6 FT AT 10 SECONDS.

SAT NIGHT
N WIND 20 TO 25 KT. GUSTS UP TO 35 KT IN THE

I think the winds should return to the gorge Monday because Portland cools down again beginning monday, and stays that way throught the week.

The National Weather Service forecast doesn't mention wind in the corridor until late in the week. Normally, their readings include some number. The discussion has the tone of an extended heat wave so it may be best to stay out on the coast. I've discovered that the wind in the Greek island of Paros is cranking. Stay tuned..
