Based on the small number of replies, I am guessing that a lot of you did not watch the video. I have been doing some checking on the internet and it appears that Skyline will be ground zero for Speedflying next year.

Watch the video!

Les,

Do you think that the folks at Powder Mountain will actually allow Speedflying even in the backcountry? If so, I am buying a Pow Mow season pass.

I dont know if they would allow it or not. Coming off of james peak and towards the bottom would run you into the backcountry accessed by lightning ridge. With the people that would be in there, I would think not. There would be some flying from james peak and the ridge that runs east before you get to the bottom and there are very few people that would be skiing there.

You might get a year or two flying before you get shut down. Then you'll just have to settle for the powder and kiting on the hidden lake side.

aaah, brain fart. South side of James peak is the answer (face you see when driving past wolf creek). No one is out there. Huge, steep decent. Little wind. Southern exposure, rarely slides. At the bottom, you can ski out to the road. Hich a ride back up. skin back up to james peak, do it again. At the beginning of the season, they do like to see a pass though. Later, they dont bother you to much.
