Saturday Options....
....Dawn Patrollers, head to Skyline now, its currently in the 12-16mph range from the north. Looking to taper off again in the afternoon. With the possibility of a light south push in the Wasatch plateau area by afternoon (this could kill both wind directions.
)
Otherwise.....Umm, looks like a nice day to mow the lawn. I sure hope my computer is broke, because I am not seeing much in the wind forecast in general.
Early risers will partake in easterly canyon winds (catabatic flow at the mouths of the canyons) which are great for dialing in kite skills before heading up to the snow line. Other than morning canyon winds, hill tops are likely in the 5 knot range.
As you can see from the link, we are sitting in a light wind high pressure for the day... http://www.usairnet.com/weather/maps/cu ... ind-speed/
The NOAA winds aloft also indicate that there is little wind below 15,000 feet.
The avalanche forecast has the typical 5-15 forecast... but these lighter days also can give way to localized high pressure that kills the wind. Here's the link to Avy weather, they have some other good forecast links if you search the site. http://www.avalanche.org/%7Euac/index.htm
On a positive note, this updated winds aloft page now shows wind down to 9,000 feet! check it http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/Winds/A ... se=azimuth
Its gonna be one of the days, where only the lucky ones get the action... do you feel lucky, punk?
