where's everybody heading this weekend? i can't seem to get a good indicator off NOAA. i know we just got plenty of snow though so i'm itching to get out and kite. last saturday Billy and i headed up to strawberry. i think we were at chicken creek. jake was supposed to show up but never did. bill and i had plenty of fun on his 9 meter waroo though. the winds were very gusty. the 9 was probably a little undergunned, but i wouldn't have gone any bigger than a 10. when the gusts hit, they really hit.

anyway, i got my first 360 rotation last weekend and i'm stoked to go push my limits again and try some more jumps. anybody have any good forecasts? looks like Powder Mountain is a sure bet by augies's wind graph.

any tips?

Mike,

Based on what I can see on NOAA and ikitesurf, I would pick Rush today and Skyline tomorrow. Looks like a solid North at Rush. I think all of the mountain locations may be socked in. Strawberry may give up some rides in and between the snow flurries. It may be too early to tell on Skyline for tomorrow. The forecast keeps changing. I am hoping that Brian will chime in because he has a better idea if it will blow there than anyone else I know.

I saw that your were looking for good snowkiting videos with skis. There are a couple on the kiteforum in the video section. You can also do a search on Google. Here is a link to Alex Peterson riding at Skyline.

Hope to see you out there.

Jake-

talked to bill. i've got too many things here at work to take care of. rush sounds great though- let me know how it goes. i'm envisioning some post work 3:00 sessions out there.

kenny-

thanks for the video link. i'll check it out. i'm going somewhere tomorrow, just don't know where yet. i'd love to see your amazing kite skills on the snow though. keep me posted on what you decide to do tomorrow if you are going. you and jake always seem to sniff out the wind.

looks like it might be good out at rush tomorrow too though. it's calling for NW 14 where everywhere else is calling for less. hmmm....

anyone have more info on rush? where is the best place to rig? do you just ride the lake, or are there any fields nearby without kitekillers? i haven't been there for a while.

later,

Mike

Mike,

The wind should cooperate at Rush tomorrow. I will report back on good the snow is out there.

My kite skills are not amazing. I have been so focused on learning how to glide that my skills of just riding and jumping have suffered. I am going to head out today to watch Jake, Ry, and some other local riders throw down out at Rush.
