This sport is a ride. I took a lesson from Eric Gustafson, very good excperience, he is patient and excperienced in teaching. I think he saved me from getting killed or badly injured. Still have allot of questions. went out yesterday to ride, too much and gusty. So i figured out that Srawberry is good on a NW, How about on a south. Tommorow is south? where too go? anybody else in my position of trying to learn? i could use a partner to meet and try and figure this sport out. todd

Todd, hope you like that kite. Powder Mountain should be real good tomorrow, but so should the other places around you. I may or may not go out, kind of a family ski day, but who knows, I'll keep in touch.

In answer to your question, the general opinion seems to be that Strawberry is usually not very good on South wind days.

i can attest to that. i was up at strawbs sunday and got skunked, almost. flew a 16 meter kite for a while, but was constantly dropping it due to the gusty and almost non existant winds. oh well. we got billy out on the snow armchair quarterbacking for a while which was good.
