Jeff and I are planing a Spring Break trip to Mojave next week. I've kited 6 mile but not Kathrine's Landing area. I've heard there are good campsites along the shore, but up a ways into Arizona from the Marina area. Any help on the best "kite friendly" sites would be appreciated. Have 4 wheel drive so semi rough roads are not a big problem. Winds should be light but OK as there is a front coming thru mid week. Forcast is for S on Wed and N on T<F< S and then S on Sun. Any locations better than others for those wind directions? Any other Dark Siders interested or Poleboarders ready to join us? (Will bring trainer kites and floaty boards for those who are ready to 'come out and over' to the Dark Side)
Thanks for your help

Jon,
I just called Lake Mohave, they said the water temp is 62. High temps in the 90's, low's in 60's next few days then dropping into the Hi 70's, lo's in the 50's. With this front coming through, it should be windy, picking up from the south.

I've never been there, but thinking about heading down in the next day or two?? Anybody on the UWA know where the best sailing, kiting spots are?? Laughlin is real close for a diversion too. Whit

I'm interested in going down there. However, I want to see whats going to happen with the wind. I went down in Dec. I'm a little worried about boat traffic. Anyway, give me a call 801-502-3217.

Hey Ry,

Jon is getting the good stuff today probably 15-20 at 6 Mile cove, which
is the South wind launch near Searchlight. By Friday, I expect the
wind to switch North. Then, the launch near Kathrine's Landing
(Cottonwood cove, South end of the lake) will be better.
Might peak at 12 MPH, around noon, but no howler for sure.
