kite failure- warrenty or airtime?

i had my 06 12M answer blow apart on me this weekend. how do i tell if it's a warrenty issue or meerly a break? i was snowkiting. i landed the kite to come in for the day. i dropped it on its leading edge and was pulling one of the front lines to swing it around to have the leading edge face upwind so it would stay down. i've done it plenty of times before and it seems to be standard landing procedure for snowkiters with LEIs. as i was pulling, i noticed the opposite end bridal caught on a piece of snow (horrible spring sticky snow conditions). half a second after i noticed this was catching, the kite blew up. the leading edge blew completely severing the fabric on the leading edge and ripping halfway through the kite. is this faulty stitching that came undone releasing the bladder and popping, or just a leak or twig that popped the leading edge bladder? i searched the area for twigs and was unable to find any. how can i determine this by looking at the kite?

either way, i need to get the kite fixed but was wondering what direction to take- call caution or airtime...

thanks for the help.

Mike,

Call Caution first, the worst that can happen is that they will tell you "no."

Take Photos and e-mail to Caution. You would hope they can warranty a failure as you described it. I had the same type failure last year on my main bladder which ripped the material. Airtime fixed it (sewed it) and replaced the bladder. They did a pretty good, adequate job. Expect many weeks to get it back. Hopefully Caution will pay.
