ozone safety's

i know there are allot of ozone heads out there. as i get more aquanted to kiting, also have seen some hairy stuff. my question is what safety do most of you ride youre ozones with. i have 06's and have experimented with all safety leash attachment points. i have tried the safety kit to the fifth line and dont like because of tangles. I have tried to convert my front lines to the 07 version. it partialy works but gets tangled and sloppy, i need the stretch rope like the 07's. I ride attached to the chicken loop and feel comfy when riding. but when i launch and land or if big gusts are present i feel like if i realse the chicken loop the kite will not depower safely? I have been reading on the internet allot about this problem with many kites not only ozones, they do not flag out if realsed to the chicken loop. i go back to the manual and it explains as a begginer to attach youre leash to the trim stop above red ball!!! marty you told me once that if you had a problem that you would grab youre trim stop, and let go of bar, thus kite would flag onto both front lines? would this be a safe place to connect to in launch/ land senarios that were scarry. has anyone tried it? I feel this is a good topic for us newbies. I have tried to modify my bars to make them safer, I feel i am close but maybe i am looking at this the wrong way. I would like to know what most kiters, all makes of kites do in scary situations, beside not ride.
thanks todd

In most situations this should totally depower the kite, you still need to pull the safety. And of course way to much wind, there could still be some power in the kite.

What was done to the '07 is flag on one front line.
If you are uncomfortable with your "copy" of the "07 bar and line set,
You may need to upgrade to the '07 bar.
Not inexpensive, but what is peace of mind worth?

You could launch, not attached with a leash.
If things go wrong, ditch the kite.
Only do this if no one is at risk downwind.
Every year kites get safer. I'm glad of that.

I'm leaving town for a while, I may not be able to respond if you have further questions directed to me.

i guess for now. i will launch attached to the trim stop and in the chicken loop. then switch to chicken loop when i get to the water. i understand that kiting has to come with common sense when to go out, but gusty conditions happen quick. as usual marty thanks for youre help. have fun and be safe.
