Snowkiting comes to Utah on 10-21-07

Al Gore never saw this one coming... with a series of storms starting in mid September, the ground got cold and last night topped off a layer of Utah pow. Not enough to open all the mountain... in fact very minimal.

None the less, I Snowkited the flat areas of mm 14 at Skyline, powered on my 10 meter FX for a few hours. Kicking off a new early season record for legitimate snowkiting in Utah.

Now lets just hope it stays cold and we get another storm. There were only two of us and we tracked up all of the safe powder already. You could follow the drifts up the hill maybe 30-50 feet, but too many obstacles around to get silly.

Its on!

I rode earlier then this last year with Tommy Renyolds after a freak storm at a secret PC spot!

And of course Mike May and I also rode today i wish it was going to stick around...

I am jealous. I knew it would be on today. It is too bad that a high pressure is building again and the temps are rising. We need a series of big dumps!

Let's pray for more snow.

Anybody up for a stump burning? At my old ski area in Vegas, they would always have a pre-winter party and burn all of the stumps they removed that summer... along with piles of everyones donated...no sacrificed gear.

I've got some skiis to burn, along with a few snowboards that have been de-railed by rocks. We could have a giant bonfire up at Skyline to celebrate the new season.

Any thoughts...?

My thought:

Burning skis: bad. Toxic smoke, yo. But a bonfire of something friendlier sounds fun!

Oh, and this is a total off-topic, but Brian, do you know if the Vision is set to release this winter or is it back in the development pipe for the next year? I'm looking to fill a hole in my quiver after sending my 12m to swim for all eternity in the salt lake. <pours one out for dead homies>
