Last weekend was awesome and inspirational.

Start planning for next weekend at Island Park.

This will be the best opportunity for the kiter's from Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and more
to join in a weekend of kiting and make new friends to share the stoke of snowkiting.
There is plenty of snow, and I'll post later with Noah's weekend wind forcast.
Noah is Montana's winter version of our hero, Craig G.
Some are staying in West Yellowstone, others a little closer.

Who wants to caravan up, maybe Friday morning?

Looks like a little fresh snow coming down (less than 2 inches) with cold temps and decent S-SW winds predicted for Island Park, ID this weekend.

The Hungry Bear is hosting a heated lunch tent, and the Ponds Lodge have invited live bands for both Friday and Saturday night along with hotel discounts for Snowkiters. This is a great time to pay tribute the facilities that allow kiters to use and abuse their restrooms all season long.

This event started a few years ago as the Montana Snowkite Round-up, a pre-cursor to the Snowkite Rodeo in February. They have brought their event south to IP, to rally up with a larger group, allowing a neutral spot for Snowkiters from Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and Utah to rally together for a true season kick-off.

There are no other events planned until January, and the next ones will be in the mid-west and east coast.... so if you are looking to ride with like minded friends, get on up to Island Park this weekend.

Or go Snowkite locally, it looks good in Utah too... thats the best part of Snowkiting, the variety of locations that are constantly going off!

That might be the worst news coverage I've ever seen of any event or news item. I think I'd rather watch a segment on "What mothers should know about cat urine!"

Seriously. Way to go Brian. Too bad they didn't put your name on the screen. Too bad they only used about two separate shots and repeated them. Ugh. If ever there was a sport *made* for being filmed, it's kiting. Not a single jump! Unbelievable!

I'm sure dozens of people went to look up this brand new and wonderful sport of "ski kiting" (whatever that is).

yeah the reporter was under dressed cold and frozen.... don't think he was as stoked as we were to be in the snow and wind. I don't know how they botched it so much, as he wrote down notes the whole time... and we recorded a few different people and the location for over an hour.

Oh well, funny to watch... and likely a winner for the worst snowkite coverage ever
