Skyline on Monday

Me and a friend have come into town from Kansas City for the next 3 days and are hoping to get some of this great utah powder. We want to head up to Skyline in the morning but we're worried about being able to get up there. Is there any way to check if the road is open? Where are most of the guys going to be? Any help would be great.
Thanks
Matt Greeff

Hey Matt,
Since your posting up. I assume you have internet access were you're staying. You can check the UDOT page for road condition. http://www.commuterlink.utah.gov/ie.htm Enjoy it up there.

Matt,

I doubt they will close the road to Skyline. I have driven up there in absolute whiteout conditions and the plows keep running keeping the road clear.

Skyline should be good tomorrow, but Strawberry is a better call. Way more terrain to ride and excellent post-frontal north winds. If for some reason Strawberry is socked in, you can fall back to ride in Park City.

Ithink I might be heading to Strawberry tomorrow. It is looking like a good forecast. What time are you going Kenny?

Dave,

I have to work today. If I can sneak out, I will go to PC in the late afternoon.

Hi Guys, I drove up to Skyline yesterday and it was the worst I have ever witnessed on the highway. There were small sluff/avalanches along the whole highway heading up 31. Most of it is down to one small lane. I would not be surprised if they closed it later, the only reason it was open was because of some lost snow mobilers. We could not get to the top so went down to the lower spot and it was almost impossible to kite since the snow was chest deep. If you can get up today to the top it should be great but the mountain is still socked in right now, tomorrow is looking to be sunny.

The exciting thing is we are going to have snow very late in the year!!!!
