Utah Lake SSB questions

So I am new to Utah but have been kiting in many locations for years. I was bored today and decided to South Sandy Beach to check out the site and maybe get a little riding in. I know I hit the right spot but wow was I surprised. First, there seemed to be nowhere to rig much less launch. Is this because the water level is so high after a big snow year? Also I was a little surprised at how much garbage there was around. I am hopeful, I guess, that it is because there have not been many kiters around yet this spring and the area gets some use by other, less discriminating, folks during the winter.

I have been to some tough launches in my day but this seemed...well...really tough. Please I don't want to sound like a snob here at all. I need help. Can someone dial me in? I would love to help clean up the site or at least get a clue as to how the launch works.

It wasn't windy by the way (sat there for a couple hrs)

Thanks in advance for advice.

Come to Lincoln Beach for now, all your questions can be answered there, SSB is not ready yet.

It's past SSB around the little bay. The road is Lincoln Beach Road. In the Utah Gazetteer look for Lincoln Point. On Google Maps look for W 6400 S to Lincoln Beach Road. There's a park there were hanging out happens until the wind comes up.
