Seems like Grantsville is the only place that has been going off lately. Don't know if I can even get up that early on a holiday, but thought about getting out for some elusive water riding. Any input on this spot for kiting?
Burms looked good yesterday. We will see how things set up for today. Just watch those ankles!
It also looked like Utah Lake would have been OK for big gear yesterday. Did anyone make it out?

Looks like Utah lake is going off right now. I have a feeling that the afternoon north thermal is starting to work again.
I would put your kiting money on DC tomorrow if you can handle the crowds. Sulfur creek if you don,t mind the launch.
Grantsville works ok for maybe one or two kites on a normal day. Tomorrow will be a mad house of fishing line. Which could pose a problem for laying out your lines. You have to remember that the lake is about 50 acres.

I have kited Grantsville many times. The wind is more gusty and swirly than DC. Expect jumps that will spike you high into the air, but no lift for the ride down. The launch is rocky and tears up kites, so I always use a drift launch method there. You will want to wear booties because there is a lot of glass and sharp rocks along the beach. Ride a big board as the lulls can be huge and you don't want to go in at the dam (huge nasty rocks) if at all possible. I like to stay upwind of the sailors. It is definitely not a place for beginners or for just cruising. You have to pay attention and be on your game. Also watch out for fisherman. I had one hook my board shorts on a long cast a couple years ago. I managed to break off the line before it snagged my skin. I would definitely not go there on a holiday as it becomes a total madhouse.
