There will be a Kite Fest held by Spanish Fork City at the Wind Mills in SF. Date is Sept 5-6th. Mainly giant one line kites and kid kites. Cloud 9 and Ozone will be on hand with demos and gear for sale. I am very curious to see the actual location and am slightly hoping for 45 mph wind and kiter chaos. If not, at least the little kiddies will be stoked. Should be a good family event celebrating wind power. Come one come all to the greatest show on earth....and lets see what happens when kites and wind mills collide!

Kite Fest in Spanish Fork started today and many of us were introduced to a new area...and likely one that we will only kite on this weekend and on future fests....as it is on a gun range!
So its really cool tho, Spanish Fork City has a park with free camping and a small...really really small lake. The Ozone team supported Cloud 9 kites and have been invited to Kitesurf this lake for a demonstration during the Fest. Today the wind did not comply, but tomorrow we are hoping to run the worlds shortest down winder ever! Along with paramotoring demonstrations from the Cloud 9 Free Fly Team.
Here are a few pics from the day... up and down north wind allowed us to fly large trainers and power kites along with seeing some giant one line kites that were very impressive.
All in all, if you are looking for something to do on Saturday this is an interesting Fest to check out, and the perfect place to bring a family or girlfriend that needs convincing that kiting is a 'family friendly sport'.
Heather is stoked, she helped make an 8 month old friend his first kite and flew it happily over Utah skies... the next generation is coming.
Windzup,
Brian
See you all on Saturday if you can make it!

We went up to it on Fri. and the kids loved it... I'd love to see a session on Spanish Fork's "Ceeement Pond", and anyone from the area knows, the wind is predictable there: starts at 10:00PM and turns off at 10:00AM the next day.
We'll try and swing up again today, but not sure. If you can, get up there for the views at least.

I stopped by on Saturday to check out the festivities and had a good chat with Brian, Heather, and Steve. Thanks for all the great info and advice for a beginner. I've been really impressed with how friendly and laid-back the whole kiting community is. I look forward to becoming a part of it.
