Brett-
You should contact Rick Markham for accomodations in Kuau/Paia. He has an absolutely awesome Hawaiian plantation with numerous rentals on the property.Hot tub. Barbecue/party area. It even has a tree house with accomodations. He also has other rentals as well in Kuau and Paia. Just don't get caught up late partying with me and Rick's old roommates Peter Volwater and Finian Maynard. These guys stay there in the spring and party hard.

Brett,

My wife and I stayed at "KAI HALE COTTAGE" just east of Paia a couple years ago. The place is awesome. Totally tranquil, close to the beach and walking distance to Paia. Two story, one bedroom, full kitchen. Launching is possible from the beach access but you better be comfortable with large waves and shallow reefs. I commuted to Kanaha.

It's hard to find an affordable place for few people on Maui, but this was a score. We paid $550 for the week in '03 and it's such a beatiful setting. You can find rental brokers with a google search. We used windsurfari.
