Where to Ride 12/30

Thanks to all for posting more often. I would also appreciate any tips or localized information that you use to predict wind at your favorite locations. Thanks to Billy for helping me better understand the wind at Strawberry.

Skyline - expect mid-teens with packed snow conditions

Strawberry looks like light NW winds, it may be too light at Strawberry River to ride, keep driving east for more wind. Snow should be excellent with powder/wind-blown powder conditions.

Evanston looks like high teens on sparse snow. Sulphur Creek is a good place for learning, just check with the ice fisherman to find out where the thin spots are on the ice and bring a small kite (a 3M trainer and skis will work in 20 mph winds).

PowMow and other lower elevation locations do not look promising.

Wednesday - Skyline and Evanston both look promising.

Avalanche danger is still high in the backcountry, so stay away from steep slopes.
