Well I showed up at 2:50 PM to a lake full of white caps..
By the time I went in the water a few minutes later was down to... huh 2mph?
I schlogged around to see the wind come back really strong from 5/10' at a time with huge 5/10' lulls. Really gusty (think 0-20mph). About as bad as it gets but still a fun time tricking around during the schlogs and ripping in the gusts..

I got out of the water at 4:00PM so see the wind pick up again.. not bad :)

I wish I knew why it got so gusty (WSW direction?) because the Herbert airport was looking really good on the mesonet!
