Dusk patrol at DCSBB (AKA sailboard beach, the State Park, the Dam). Arrived at about 4:30 to an empty parking lot. Put the buoy in the water, attached the board, then went back to rig a sail. Back to the water with the sail, no board (or buoy) in sight! Uncomfortable, perhaps, with unfamiliar surroundings, it was drifting slowly, majestically back toward Island Beach with 20 lbs of iron dangling below. Swimming seemed the only option (and I hate swimming) so I swam. Things got much better from that point with mostly planing conditions as the sun sank behind Timp. Good gusts were still coming when I left at 6:30.

:D
