Yeah, that was me being an idiot :/ Never had a kite in the trees before and wasn't smart enough to do the right thing, which I think was releasing the kite, deflating it, and undoing all the lines. Instead I tried to back it off the trees by pulling in the rear lines. I successfully raised the kite off the trees backwards, but the steering line was caught on a branch and directed the kite back at the tree, shredding it. Oh well, lesson learned! Fun day until then. Also my first day at Powder Mountain.
Kite went into the trees in the first place because I am used to kiting on water. The upwards slope confuses me; makes the kite lower to the ground (and trees) than I think it is unless I am actually looking at it.
