1/11 Kenny's Where to Ride

Summary: a good possibility of two epic days in a row - today and tomorrow. Saturday is looking like the more sure bet if you have to choose one or the other. Visibility and snow squalls could muck things up a bit today, but it still looks like a good day. Sunday is looking like light wind.

Looks like a windy, snowy day on tap today. Your best bet is Strawberry this afternoon as it is the area that is most likely to have decent visibility, but there will still be snow throughout the day, so stay close to the road. Wind has a westerly cant to it, so Chicken Creek and further eastern launches are favored. It should still be windy at the River, but maybe not as clean. Expect wind in the upper-teens or stronger. Skyline might be rideable, but the wind is so strong 25+ and with all of the new snow and more coming down, it may be more a of a blizzard. Your best bet if you are down in that area is Skyline Reserve. PowMow promises a snow day. You could also get some rides at Park City and Rush. Expect primo powder at all locations due to the cold temps, so bundle up.

Saturday the wind backs down and turns more northerly. Best bets are Strawberry and Skyline for wind in the low to mid-teens with a possible late-afternoon fade. Snow conditions should be excellent. Air temps will be frigid.

Sunday is looking kind of light right now, stay tuned.
