1/20 Kenny's Where to Ride

Summary: High pressure ridge remains camped over the area killing the wind.

Yesterday, I drove up to the Ogden Valley and scouted out Pineview and then continued on to Powder Mountain. The inversion has filled into the Ogden Valley around Pineview, so the temperature differential is not great between there and Ogden, so there was little wind to speak of. The wind at PowMow was westerly switching from a slightly southern to a slightly northern cant. It was blowing around 8 - 10 mph. I could have made it work on my 21, but opted to snowshoe instead.

Today, your best bet is Skyline, but it will be light (around 10) and may be intermittent. If you have a snowmobile or wish to skin, the high peaks have rideable northerly wind. You might luck out at Strawberry on some light puffs.

Monday is looking dead.

Tuesday looks similar to today.

Looks like some wind is coming on Wednesday and hopefully some clearing of the inversion.
