3/20 Craig's Where to Ride

Postby Craig Goudie » Sun Mar 20, 2011 9:20 am

More South wind today. Kiters look to Rush for 12M conditions AM on pretty smooth South wind.
PM rush will get gustier and stronger in the 8M range. Grantsville looking less heinous (than yesterday) this AM with 5.5 conditions, and then getting gusty late afternoon. Willard looks like PM 6.5/12 best around
3. DC looks like it will have gusty shifty wind afternoon, but there are better options for Kiters
and Windsurfers. You might get a few planable PM puffs on big gear at UL launches. I never
know how to call Yuba, but if there were a day when I might get close , today looks like South wind
even in the PM with planable rides in the 6/12M range and maybe dips to 5/10.
With air temps brushing 55, it's still plenty cold out there, so protect yourself.

Tomorrow even more South wind, but with rain and air temps barely hitting 50, plus some
thunder (and therefore electrical discharge). Rush looking strong in the 5-7M Kite range all day,
but peaking around 3PM. Grantsville AM 5M Sail conditions. Willard 5.5/10 PM. UL and Mona
look promising on 6/12M conditions PM with the peak around 3. DC, gusty South 5.5/10 from
about 11 AM on. Consider the danger of the cold before heading out.

Tuesday looks pretty windless.
