1/22 Kenny's Where to Ride

Skyline should experience strong, gusty NW clearing winds today in the low to mid-twenties. It will also be cold. I have no idea of the surface conditions at PowMow or Monte Cristo other than the fact that the northern storms favored those areas. However, I can tell you that a NW wind direction at PowMow limits the riding area to a small area right by the radar towers and the wind is extremely gusty or in simpler terms it sucks.

Monday is promising winds in the low to mid-teens at Skyline and some snow showers. Wind will be up and down as squalls pass by. It is looking like a better day to check out PowMow.

Tuesday is looking like wind in the low to mid-teens again at Skyline.

Thanks Kenny! Below is some info for everyone to come check out. Should have a big pile of trainer and snow kites and gear for folks to check out:

SNOW KITE demo event! HQ Kites and Cloud 9 kite shop (Utah's only full time kite shop) will host a snow kite demo open to all this Mon, Tues and Wed (Jan 23-25). Conditions are changing rapidly. Original plan was for Skyline Drive, but with 2 feet of fresh snow, more on the way and off the chart avalanche danger, may make it Park City on Monday (across from the National Ability Center). Huge field, wide open, on the South side of the road leading into Park City off HWY 40. We will update this later today with exact spot. Just need your skis or snowboard (bring skis if you do both, much easier your first time). We will have some of the new Cloud 9 Snow Kite Boards and Whitedot Skis for demo as well.
