3/13 Kenny's Where to Ride

It is a windy day today. Skyline should have wind in the low-twenties with higher gusts. PowMow will absolutely nuke, I don't recommend it. It will blow at Monte and Strawberry, but I think the snow will be absolute soup due to the high temps today. Rush will have very strong winds, expect wind in the upper twenties with much higher gusts. A front is approaching, so expect the winds will become more erratic as the day progresses (yes, Jon and Brett got the best conditions yesterday). So, if you are going to go, the sooner the better for wind quality. Grantsville is up and going again and DC will give up some more moderate rides this afternoon.

Tomorrow, the winds lighten up. Skyline and PowMow promise wind in the low to mid-teens. Rush will probably have some up and down south winds, I never like to go to Rush when we have a mild SW flow, the south wind often ends up fighting the north and you end up with an intermittent south wind. Looks like that may be the setup, but it really depends on the strength of the south flow on any given day.

Thursday is looking like a repeat of Wednesday.

Andy Blunt and I were at Strawberry marina Yesterday... The snow is going fast. the lake has about 5 inches of snow on it and made load cracking, low pitch thumping noises in a few spots, when I stoped or slowed down, enough to scare me back to the shoreline. The snow on the ground is fading fast and very soft and hollow, If you want to get a few more days at strawberry I would go soon as I don't think its going to get better! It is still ridable but very spring like conditions for sure. Very sad...
