It was a weird evening. At first it was too light and we spent time slapping squitos and working on gear. Jake and Billy undid a twist in my depower strap in 10 seconds flat. Then the wind picked up. Jake and I got some brief rides on 12M kites on frontal storm winds. Then the clouds cleared and the wind backed down. It was Silver Arrow time for the next hour or so. It was some nice light wind cruising. Billy tried to go out on a 17 Waroo, but it was right as the wind was petering out. Some newbie was there having fun with a 10M Bularoo. Jake, Billy, and Vern were there. We had fun chatting even though it was far from an epic evening.
Billy is an official hypermiler. Drove behind him at 40 mph on the backroads to Lincoln. I would have passed him if the wind was blowing strong, but instead I was content to watch him swerve on the corners (saves gas not to brake). Hey Billy, just do me a favor and don't try to draft behind a semi in your Honda Sol. I don't think you would survive rear-ending an 18 wheeler in that car.
